KimmoPlyKimmoPly is our range of durable plywood packaging solutions. These nail-free crates are made from plywood panels, held together by steel profiles and buckles. Our KimmoPly crates are especially suitable for valuable, fragile and heavyweight products.
The KimmoPly range can be tailored to your requirements and can be branded with your logo. Naturally, Kimmo offers a variety of handles, latches and other accessories to complete your custom packaging solution.
There are four different configurations to choose from:
A three-piece unit consisting of a base, sleeve and lid.
The base and the lid are fitted with steel profiles on the edges. The sides are joined together with flexible metal strips that act as hinges to form a single sleeve. The sleeve has buckles at the top and the bottom, which fit into the base and the lid.
This is an ideal solution for smaller sizes below 1200mm in length. It is the easiest configuration to assemble and is useful for volume production where repetitive assembly of crates would be needed. We can also supply the sleeve without buckles at the top, if you prefer to strap the lid to the crate.
Plywood
A four-piece unit consisting of a base, two half-sleeves and lid.
The base and the lid are fitted with steel profiles on the edges. Two sides are joined together with a flexible metal strip that acts as a hinge to form half a sleeve. Each half-sleeve has buckles at the top and the bottom, which fit into the base and the lid, as well as buckles on the height side to fit into the other half-sleeve.
This is an ideal solution for medium-sized crates. It is easier to assemble than the SB configuration and is useful for volume production where repetitive assembly is needed. We can also supply the sleeve without buckles at the top, if you prefer to strap the lid to the crate.
Plywood 
A six-piece unit consisting of a base and lid with four individual sides.
The base and the lid are fitted with steel profiles on the edges. The four separate side panels have been fitted with buckles and steel profiles on some of the edges.
This is suitable for larger crates and low volume packaging lines. The configuration takes a bit longer to assemble, but there is a slight cost advantage. It is useful for tall bins that would be difficult to pack goods into. In these cases, one can assemble only three sides and leave one side open, and then assemble the final side after packing everything into the crate.
Plywood 
A six-piece unit with buckles only.
All six panels are fitted with male and female buckles all round (no steel profiles).
This is a cost-effective alternative for smaller units below 600mm in length.

Our plywood is available in varying thickness, depending on the weight of the products and the level of protection you require - choose between 6mm or 9mm.
We can also add security seals or track and trace systems for valuable goods.
